How to Deal With Bullies

49
Bullies in school are particularly troublesome to deal with.
But again, we have to face them sooner or later.
Here are some steps that could be helpful in facing your bully, and amazingly, this works for adults too.
1.
There are aggressive and notorious bullies that like to abuse physically without any holds bar.
There are the taunting bullies that call names, making jokes, teasing, etc.
, or any kind of verbal abuse.
Nowadays, there are the cyber bullies that can harass other kids by sending rude instant messaging, e-mails, or any ways of electronics.
Know the type of bully you are dealing with.
For cyber bullies, it's easier to just ignore the message and delete them.
2.
Avoiding bullies in school and social locations are still the best strategy.
Don't go anywhere near them, but don't be obvious or show that you are avoiding them, because they will see this and bully you more.
3.
Remember not to show to bullies that you feel affected with how they treat you, just walk away.
Bullies want to make you uncomfortable, discomfort, pain and embarrassed, they usually do this to feel more dominant.
By not showing any reaction they will just leave you alone.
4.
Some kids think it's effective to make fun of themselves in front of the bullies to make them bored.
This presumption is wrong.
This will actually amuse the bullies and they will join in with the humiliating you even more.
Turning something they have said against them to make them look silly, might make those with them laugh, and it will be at their expense.
But be prepared to stand your ground.
Bullies do not like confrontation.
5.
Don't try to talk some sense on an irrational person.
Don't waste your time and energy.
Just walk away.
6.
If you see a bully on their own, try to ask them why they are picking on you.
There are sometimes reasons why bullies are the way they are.
They might be going through rough times and violence at home, but that doesn't mean that they could take it out on you.
7.
Try to take some lessons and tips online or at meetings on "how to defend yourself" and fight properly.
This will boost your confidence and appear not to be victim anymore.
Learn self-defense.
8.
Bullies go after the sweet and shy kids, so stand up for yourself! Show them that you are not afraid of them.
Remember that they can't hurt you.
Bullies like to show their "power" by teasing and hurting other kids, but in reality they are cowards.
Strong people use their power for something else, not by bullying.
