How to Mount a Car Tire Manually
- 1). Remove the core out of the tire stem with a valve core tool. You will hear air rush out of the tire.
- 2). Break the beads by wedging a bead breaker between the tire and the rim. Once you hear popping sounds, drive the bead breaker to the ground.
- 3). Lubricate the tire with dish-washing soap. Pry the beads over the rim with a tire iron. Allow the opposite side of the tire to slip under the lip on the rim as you pry the other side over the rim.
- 4). Lubricate the new tire with dish-washing soap and put it on the same way you removed the old tire.
- 5). Remove the old valve stem with the core tool and replace it with a new one by pulling it through from the inside with the valve core tool.
- 6). Remove the core from the valve and pull the tire up against the rim. Inflate the tire using an air compressor.
- 7). Reinsert the core with the valve core tool. This seals the valve stem and prevents the air from rushing out.
