How to Repair a Windows Mail Profile
- 1). Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Click "User Accounts and Family Safety." Select "User Accounts."
- 2). Select the option "Manage another account." Type your administrator password if prompted. Select "Continue" if prompted.
- 3). Click on "Create a new account."
- 4). Type a name for the new user profile. Select "Standard" as the account type. Hit "Create Account."
- 5). Log in as another user. Choose a user profile other than the account you created in Step 4, and other than the user that you want to copy Windows Mail files from.
- 6). Click the "Start" menu and select "Documents."
- 7). Click "Folder Options" from the "Tools" menu.
- 8). Click the tab labeled "View." Choose "Show hidden files and folders." Click to remove the checkmark from "Hide protected operating system files." Hit "OK."
- 9). Navigate to the "<DriveLetter>:\Users\Old_Username" folder. Replace "<DriveLetter>" with the drive that holds your Windows system files, and replace "Old_Username" with the name of the user you want to copy files from.

Press and hold the "Ctrl" key and single-click to select all of the contents in this folder. Leave out three files: "Ntuser.dat," "Ntuser.dat.log" and "Ntuser.ini." Press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys to copy. - 11
Navigate to the "<DriveLetter>:\Users\New_Username" folder. Replace "<DriveLetter>" with the drive that holds your Windows system files, and replace "New_Username" with the name of the profile you created in Step 4. - 12
Press "Ctrl" + "V" to paste the contents you copied in Step 10. - 13
Log off from the current account. Log in using the account you created in Step 4. Your Windows Mail profile should be fixed.
