Review - YogaKids Video
Updated March 24, 2015.
YogaKids introduces kids to basic yoga poses and concepts. The video is designed for 3-6 year olds.
My Kid Loves Yoga Kids
My four-year-old daughter has a new favorite video: YogaKids. Granted, she probably has a greater familiarity with yoga than most children her age, but this video doesn't require having a mom who can stand on her head.
The video features a group of kids doing yoga on the beach with a teacher.
My daughter quickly learned the kids' names and the names of the poses they are doing, each of which is described as related to nature. She was eager to do the demonstrated breathing exercises with me and executed nice versions of the poses, which include downward dog, tree, butterfly (baddha konasana), triangle, warrior II, and, her favorite, headstand. Each pose is performed by a kid, making them seem possible to the kids watching.
Family Yoga Time
This video is a nice way to do a little yoga with the family. My daughter likes it when we all get out our mats and do the poses together. YogaKids is a great way to introduce your children to yoga in a way they can understand and enjoy. Warning: the namaste song WILL get stuck in your head.
