How to Use Hero Editor for Diablo
- 1). Start a new Diablo II game with any class whatsoever --- you can change your class later. As soon as you can, save your game and exit Diablo II. (You can skip this step if you wish to edit an already existing character.)
- 2). Change your character statistics to whatever you wish. You have the power to change virtually anything you want about your character, including her name, class and stats.
- 3). Click the "Inventory" tab located near the bottom of the Hero Editor window. This will open the inventory window, which will let you add and remove equipment and modify equipment stats.
- 4). Right-click on the inventory item you wish to edit. Click on "General Edit of Item" to bring up the item editor, which gives you direct control over the various attributes of an item. Change the settings you wish. If you can't change something or are about to do something that may cause a problem, Hero Editor should alert you.
- 5). Select the "Skills" tab, at the bottom of the window. This will give you a list of skills your hero can possess. To modify a skill, click on the skill icon and drag the slider to the desired number, or type that number in the "Set Skills" box and push the corresponding button to change all skills at once. Note that the maximum value to which a skill can be set is 20.
- 6). The rest of the Hero Editor tabs let you set the status of quests as complete or incomplete, record areas you have already visited and store other game data. You can also add or modify the statistics of your henchman.
- 7). Push the "Save" button on the bottom of the window, then "Close". Hero Editor will write your changes to disk, making them permanent. Start Diablo II and load your hero; you should see the edits you made in effect in the game.
