47

Lisa Michelle Stebic disappeared from her Plainfield, Illinois home near Chicago on April 30, 2007. She was reported missing by a neighbor the next day. Her husband, Craig Stebic, later told police that Lisa was in the backyard of their home with their two children when she disappeared around 6 p.m.

Lisa's car was found parked at the home, but her purse and cell phone were missing. Since her disappearance there has been no activity reported on either her credit cards or cell phone.

Lisa Stebic Planning for Future

Lisa Stebic worked in the cafeteria of Lincoln Elementary School in Plainfield, Illinois. Co-workers describe her as "happy and full of life" and they told police on the day she disappeared they talked with her about plans for an up-coming party.
Lisa and Craig Stebic were in the process of divorcing, but they still shared the same residence. In fact, Craig officially filed for divorce the day after Lisa went missing. He later requested that his divorce petition be withdrawn, and a judge granted that request.

Craig Stebic a 'Person of Interest'

Police suspect foul play in the disappearance of Lisa Stebic and they have named Craig Stebic as a "person of interest" in the case.
Investigators want to talk with the couple's two children, who reportedly were the last to see Lisa before she disappeared, but Craig Stebic has blocked efforts by authorities to interview the two children. Prosecutors are considering subpoenaing the children, ages 11 and 12, before a grand jury.
