I found out about this campground in Trailer Life Directory, and I RV camped there in June 2009.
Describe your camping trip:
A small family run campground (32 sites) with excellent customer service by managers and owners. The national park service has 2 tube rental locations in Van Buren, Missouri. This park has one, if you want to tube float the current river. These people have three trips to offer.
They will take you any time you want to go. The campsites are large, and all have full hook ups. The backin sites back directly to the river, about a 20' bluff with 2 decents to the river. There is a decent swimming area.
Pros: The bath houses are great, large and clean. The veiw of the river is great. They have a good indoor recreation area for all to use. There was a Good Sam Club using the recreation hall, yet there was plenty of room for others. The laundry area is clean, although there are only 2 washers and driers. My wife and I can't say enough good about this RV park.
Cons: You must run a 50' cable to the center pull thru sites to receive cable.
Nearby attractions: The Ozark National Waterway Park, containing several springs, the visitors center is in Van Buren, Missouri (.6 mile). Also located in Van Buren are 2 excellent public beach locations for the Current River.
Further comments: The last two years we have been on two road trips of 3 months, and this is indeed one of our highlights.
Reservations are necessary on holidays and weekends.
