Best Magic Trick

There are some "long-lost" magic secrets starting to resurface lately and there are ways to master these amazing tricks without great expense and always with an element of fun.

Firstly, some general points about performing amazing tricks that are often ignored or over-looked by want-to-be magicians.

You can use magic tricks as "ice-breakers" especially at a party or work gathering where very few know each other. Being able to show people a few simple, yet baffling tricks, will quickly "thaw" out the crowd and you will be an instant hero with people very appreciative of your help with the situation, as well as being the deserved center of attention.

However, there definitely is a right and wrong way to learn magic! Always start small and select say, 5 or 6 magic tricks that you feel you can master fairly well – and you like the trick. The key now is for you to practice, practice, practice, until the tricks are almost second nature to you. And even then, you should only try out your new skills with close friends and family.

Always remember that things can and will go wrong, or people will try to unsettle you (especially if they are jealous of your new found skills) or you may panic or forget a step or something really simple that ruins the illusion or the trick. So never try to perform in public before stacks of practice and some friends and family shows first. Always have an "exit plan". By this I don't mean having a way to leave the building if your audience expresses disapproval of your magic show. Simply know when to quit your performance in your early days as a magician and never over-stay your welcome. People will respect that you are still learning if you tell them, but they will lose patience, and you will lose credibility, if you simply continue on oblivious of your audiences' reactions.

Another important factor is your "patter" or talk. Remember you are putting on a show and to make sure your audience is fully involved be aware of potential distractions and engage your show crowd as much as you can – conversing with your audience effectively takes lots of practice and skill but once you have mastered this there will be so many more tricks and illusions you will be able to perform. Often it's a matter of building your self confidence.
