How to Uninstall Windows XP SP2
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" menu and click "Run." Type "appwiz.cpl" (without quotes) in the open box and press "Enter."
- 2). Click the "Show updates" check-box on top of the window that appears. You should see a list of the applications and updates installed on your computer. Scroll down the window and click "Service Pack 2."
- 3). Click "Remove" to launch the Uninstall Wizard. Follow the guided prompts to remove the update. When prompted, restart your computer.
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" menu and click "Run" to launch the command box.
- 2). Type "c:\\windows\\$NtServicePackUninstall$\\spuninst\\spuninst.exe" (without quotes) in the text field, then click "OK" to launch the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Removal Wizard.
- 3). Click "Next" on the removal wizard and follow the guided prompts to uninstall the Windows update. When prompted, restart your computer.
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" menu and click "Run." Type "%SystemRoot%\\System32\\restore\\rstrui.exe" (without quotes) in the open box and press "Enter" to launch the System Restore utility.
- 2). Click the "Restore my computer to an earlier time" radio button and click "Next." Click the date that you installed Windows XP SP2, then click "Installed Window XP Service Pack 2" in the Restore Point box.
- 3). Click "Next" and follow the guided prompts. When prompted, restart your computer.
