My Guitars

16
Through the course my life I have owned and played many different guitars. My dad used to take me to a small music store that would refurbish and resell used and vintage guitars. Even since childhood I can remember being kept up by my father and his massive Marshall half stack that resided in our basement.
The very first guitar that I ever played was given to me on my 10th birthday. It was an old 1970s Simpson Sears electric series. It barely stayed in tune the pickups were all loose and dirty and the feedback was nearly unbearable. Nevertheless it was what I used as my beginner, learning guitar.
I remember the small lamp my father gave me to play it through. It was a very tiny, maybe 5 W Randall And I recall there was either an adapter or battery-power that it would run on, it was safer to use the adapter because otherwise it would eat through batteries. I'm not sure whether it was eating through batteries because of the frequency I was playing it or because of the volume that I would always play it at, full.
Some years later I said that my coins and on one Saturday on our trip to the music store I purchased a Yamaha Pacifica. His was a vast improvement on the very old and now very worn out Sears. The Yamaha was like turning over an entirely new leaf. I like that it looked similar to a strat the action was also very good and something that I wasn't used to playing such an old gritty guitar. I really liked that it actually stayed in tune.
After I purchased the Yamaha I went on a bit of the spending spree. Rather than use my dad's half stack or my crappy 5 W, I opted to get something a little bit bigger. I bought an old bass amp for almost nothing on the Internet as well as a boss delay pedal, and a Digitech RP 60. I was ready to play louder than I had ever played before and this was fun for a little bit until I started to really get into some acoustic songs.
Which brings me to Epiphone [http://epiphonelespaulreviews.org/], my dad was getting rid of his dreadnought DR100. I offered to take it from him first I was going to give him cash but he ended up just giving it to me in exchange for my Digitech pedal. I couldn't believe that such a deep sound could come out of an acoustic guitar. I played a friend's acoustic before but he did not have the same richness and sound quality that this acoustic did. I simply had to get an electric to match. After scouring some reviews for the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III [http://epiphonelespaulreviews.org/the-epiphone-les-paul-ultra-iii/]. I decided that I would start saving for one.
I saved up some money at my part-time job and after about a year I had a little bit of extra cash to spare for new guitar. I went down the local music store in the mall and purchased a brand new Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III [http://epiphonelespaulreviews.org/the-epiphone-les-paul-ultra-iii/], which is been a guitar that I use to this day. It's got great fast action, you can play almost any style of music, and it's got a great sound for recording which is mostly what I use it for.
So thankful that I had a father that would support me music and provide for me the tools that I would need to further my hobby. I love playing guitar, in my love for this hobby is only furthered by having such great equipment, which allows me to express my musical vision.
