• 1). Find out the bank account number, sort code and full name of the person or company you are going to be sending the money to. It is vital to have all these pieces of information on hand as the operator will not provide this information over the phone.
  
  
• 2). Contact your bank's transfers section. These calls are normally done through a computerized system of selecting options through the keypad.
  
  
• 3). Ask the operator to set up this payment as a direct debit. If you are sending a regular payment to a person, for example your landlord, ask for the money to be sent on the same day each month. If it is going to an organization, for example the utility company, there is no need to set up a recurring date as the money will be taken out automatically when the bill is due.

• 1). Make sure you have the bank account number, sort code and full name of the person or company before you start this process.
  
  
• 2). Log in to your bank account online and select the transfers and payments section.
  
  
• 3). Enter in the bank account number, sort code and name into the form and select recurring payment.
  
  
• 4). Select how often you want the money to be sent out of your account.
