How to Remove Torsion Bars in a 1995 Nissan Pickup
- 1). Use the jack to lift up the front of the vehicle and then set it on the jack stands. Be sure that the vehicle is completely and solidly on the stands prior to working on it. Take off the front wheels using the tire iron and set them out of the workspace.
- 2). Locate the torsion bar connection on the lower control arm. Follow the bar down the length of the truck to where it connects to the frame. Unbolt the torsion bar from the frame using the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket.
- 3). Unbolt the torsion bar from the lower control arm. Then pull the torsion bar out of the lower control arm using your hands, and pull it out of the frame.
