How to Dispose of Cooking Oil and/or Grease

24
    • 1). If you have a frying pan of grease (say from burgers or bacon) you can dispose of it two different ways.

The first way is to let the frying pan sit until the grease hardens and then you can simply wipe it out with paper towels and then throw the paper towels in the garbage can.

The second way is to pour the grease into an old can (say from vegetables or tomato sauce)and then let it harden. Simply throw the can away once the grease has hardened.

    • 2). If you have frying oil (such as vegetable oil)and just finished a batch of french fries the best way to dispose of the oil is to first let it cool. Then place it in a clean glass bottle and save it for the next time you are frying. If it's dirty and ready to be disposed of then just toss the glass bottle in the trash.

    • 3). Another easy way to dispose of either hardened grease or cooking oil is to use zip lock bags. Make sure the oil is totally cool otherwise it will tear the bag and you will have oil all over the place. But using a zip lock bag is easy to just zip closed and throw away. There's very little chance the oil will spill out of the bag.
