How to Install a DVD that Asks for a Boot Disk
- 1). Insert the DVD into your disc drive.
- 2). Exit out of any autoplay options that appear.
- 3). Click "Start," then "Computer." Locate your DVD under "Devices with removable storage."
- 4). Click on the DVD with the right mouse button. Select "Explore" from the right-click menu. A window will appear displaying all the files on the DVD.
- 5). Press "CTRL" and "A" at the same time to select all the files on the DVD. Press "CTRL" and "C" at the same time to copy them.
- 6). Minimize the window that displays the contents of your DVD. Right-click in any empty space on your Desktop and select "New" from the right-click menu. Click "Folder." Assign your new folder a name and press "Enter." Double-click on your new folder to open it.
- 7). Click inside your new folder with the right mouse button. Select "Paste." This will copy all the files you need to install the program from your DVD into that one folder. Wait for it to finish pasting the files.
- 8). Locate and double-click on the file "Setup.exe" within your new folder to begin the installation process of your new program. With all the files in that folder and not on the DVD, it won't matter if the disc is scratched or defective because the computer isn't using the disc to install the program anymore.
