"And the evening and the morning were the first day." Gen. 1.5B
"... And the evening and the morning were the second day." Gen. 1.8B
"And the evening and morning were the third day." Genesis 1:13
"And the evening and the morning were the fourth day." Genesis 1:19
"And the evening and the morning were the fifth day." Genesis 1:23
"... And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." Gen. 1.31B

"Thus the heavens and the earth and all their host were finished. And there on the seventh day God ended his work which had rested on the seventh day from all his work he had done. And God blessed the seventh day and hallowed , because on it he rested from all his work which God created and made. "Gen 2. 1-3

In these verses of the first book of the Bible we have the description of the first day of creation. Note that, in the above verses, God defines the period of each day, beginning and end, evening and morning - respectively, but when reports of the day Saturday, we have not identified this limitation. So why is not said, "and was evening and the morning were the seventh day as the other six days first?

God only reports the Saturday with a beginning and not an end, showing us that he is also a day of rest. What would it rest?

In chapter 20 of Exodus, verse 8, God deliver the Ten Commandments also underscores the remembrance of the Sabbath day to sanctify that - so in addition to rest Saturday is a holy day.

In the book of Isaiah, chapter 58 and verse 13, describes the Sabbath as the day on which we can not do "our will", not to speak "our own words" and reminds us that it is a day that we should "honor."

The Evangelist Mark, chapter 2, verse 23 to 28, reports an episode in which the Pharisees criticized Jesus' disciples because they were picking grain to eat, with the understanding that the Sabbath could not work, even this thought is still some followers.

But he agreed with this idea? No! He said that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the understanding is not that way.

How would it be then? In Paul's epistle to the Colossians, the text described below, the Apostle exhorts us not to judge people for eating, drinking ... and finally Saturday and cited the following verse, he teaches us that the Sabbath is a "shadow" of things to come.

"Therefore no one judge you in food or drink, or in respect of an holyday, or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ."
 Colossians 2:16-17

Recall: the Sabbath is then shade, rest, a holy day, we should not do our will and we must honor it. In Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 3, the writer of Hebrews says that whoever believes in God, enters into his rest, and the following verse, verse 4 of this same text, he refers to the Sabbath day and encourages us in the following we come to it. Also cites others who do not enter because of disobedience.

So what is the Lord's day holy day of rest. It would be the second, third or Wednesday? It would be even Saturday? No. It is the day on which we accept the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ and so enter into his rest, beginning but no end. He is not bounded as it is an eternal day.

Well ...
