Image of Well of Heavenly Clarity, Temple of Literature, Hanoi
The third courtyard is at the exact center of the Temple of Literature complex, and brings a sort of architectural balance to the whole place. Placed right in the middle of this courtyard, a walled pond called the Well of Heavenly Clarity catches the reflection of the Khue Van Cac Pavilion.
West and east of the pond stand two pavilions containing the real treasure of the Temple of Literature - 82 stone stelae commemorating the 1,306 passers of the triennial examinations, recording their names, birth places, and achievements.
