You can easily check this by running scans and seeing the common traces that come up.
If you run a scan after each time, you are on the internet you can trace to see which of the sites are causing the trace.
While this is not always a viable option there are a number of programs both paid for and freeware that can provide you with a significant amount of protection and remove the biggest percentage of traces from your system.
It is a good idea to try out a few programs and pick two or three of the best.
Then run each one on a regular basis.
This will help to ensure that your computer is kept free of spyware.
If you can find one of the spyware programs that contains protection that is even better because not only will you be able to remove the spyware but be able to protect your computer from future threats.
There are even some programs that come with pop up blockers to help prevent the pop advertisements, which are normally caused by spyware to be blocked.
Often times it is not the website but these pop up ads that play the biggest part in spyware on your computer.
There are a number of spyware programs available on the market both for purchase and freeware and many of them are excellent comprehensive programs however, there is no one program that will remove 100% of all spyware from your system as each program contains a different set of criteria for what it considers a trace.
This is why it is a good idea to maintain several different programs in order to provide a greater blanket of security for your system.
