Victor and Vivian
At the Java Café, Victor has just come face to face with Vivian. “Good God! Just when I thought things couldn’t get worse!” responds a surprised Victor. Vivian says she’s very hurt, thinking he’d be very glad to see her. He questions how she has the spare time to come winging all the way to Salem, assuming it has something to do with her arch enemy, Carly Manning. “She’s the one that killed your nephew,” Victor reminds her.
Vivian wickedly clarifies that Carly is a doctor who saves lives, not snuffs them out.
Vivian reveals that someone has confessed to killing Lawrence, and thus Carly is “completely innocent.” Victor notes how this is coming from the same woman who buried Carly alive. Vivian insists that she’s willing to start anew. Victor surmises that Vivian wants Carly out in the open so she can exercise her own creative torture. He reminds Vivian that she’s not getting any younger, so whatever she’s planning to do, she’d better do it soon. Vivian can’t help but wonder if Victor wants to get the “black widow” out of his son’s house before his daughter-in-law gives Bo the “heave-ho.” She advises Victor to take a different approach if Bo won’t listen to him.
Victor asks Vivian how he gets through to his son, quipping how she obviously has a degree in family counseling. Vivian decides to spell it out, noting how Victor is very biased against Carly. So, Bo needs to hear the facts from someone who doesn’t loathe her.
Victor wonders who that someone would be. “How about the lovely Kate?” suggests Vivian. “A more appropriate word would be ‘traitorous,’” counters Victor, who reveals that she married Stefano DiMera. Victor admits he found it very comical and says he laughed his ass off when he first heard about the marriage. Vivian surmises that it makes him feel lonely. Victor sarcastically remarks how he now has Vivian to lighten his life. Vivian tries to assure Victor that she’s on his side.
Victor affirms to Vivian that there is nothing remotely substantial for them to build on. “Well, what about our mutual hatred for Carly Manning?” she questions, believing it’s a good place to start.

Hope meets Abe and has a favor to ask about her future. She declares that she’s ready to get back to work and wants a new job. He questions if things between her and Bo are so bad that they can’t work together. She says they are still dealing with the issues from the kidnapping, remarking how Carly came back into town. He assumes that Hope and Ciara are staying with Doug and Julie, and Carly is at her house. Hope reveals that Doug and Julie are on a cruise, and they are staying with Victor. Abe informs her that while she’s staying at the Kiriakis mansion, he’s not hiring.
Hope reminds Abe that despite what he thinks of Victor, he is family, and it means a lot to Ciara to be with her grandpa right now. Abe can’t understand why Bo doesn’t want Hope and Ciara to move back home even though Carly was exonerated. He wonders why Carly is still at the house. “That’s a good question,” replies Hope.
Brady House
Carly looks at a paper and declares to Bo that today’s the day she makes contact with her future and her past. She puts her coat on and tells him to wish her luck, then embraces him before leaving.
Hope brings Ciara over to the house to see Bo, who tells his daughter to run upstairs and pick out a book while he talks to Mommy. Bo thanks Hope for bringing Ciara by. She admits she hates that Carly’s schedule dictates when Ciara can come over. She agrees to pick Ciara up in a couple of hours, but Bo asks her to stay for a couple of minutes. Bo hears Ciara upstairs and heads up. Hope is about to leave, but contemplates looking through Carly’s purse in an effort to find out what she’s hiding. She flashes back to a recent conversation with Bo when he insisted that he couldn’t tell her about Carly. She can’t bring herself to invade Carly’s privacy. “On the other hand, she invaded my house, and her little secret is preventing me and Ciara from moving back home,” remarks Hope. Bo catches his wife going through Carly’s purse and asks what she’s doing.
Cheatin’ Heart
After Arianna makes a drug exchange with Troy, she runs right into E.J., who confronts her about knowing Rafe was trying to prove Sydney was his daughter. She admits that she did, but claims she couldn’t say anything. She apologizes for Nicole turning out to be a psychopath. E.J. quips how funny she is and says Nicole is where she needs to be, which is behind bars. “She’s been released on bail,” reveals Arianna. E.J. asks how Nicole made bail. He excuses himself to make a phone call, and Ari sneaks out.
Sami’s Place
Rafe and Sami admire a sleeping Sydney in her playpen, then share a kiss. Sami proceeds to call her grandma and check on the twins. Rafe has a message from Arianna, and Sami has one from Brady, both revealing that Nicole has been released on bail. Sami takes a call from E.J., who has some unsettling news about Nicole, which she already knows. He states that they need to keep an eye on Sydney, and he intends to see if he can file more charges and get Nicole put back in prison. She is about to hang up, but he wants to discuss custody of Sydney. She tries to discourage this idea now, since she just put Sydney down for a nap, but E.J. insists on doing it now and tells her to bring Sydney over. He reminds Sami that when it comes to his daughter, he fights for what it his.
Sami packs up Sydney’s things and Rafe tries to assure her that they don’t have to go over to the DiMera place tonight. She can’t blame E.J. for wanting to spend time with their beautiful angel. He reassures her that he has her back and encourages her to push a little harder if E.J. pushes.
Brady and Nicole
An angry Brady drags Nicole to the pier and confronts her about stealing Sami’s baby and conning him into helping cover up her lies. Nicole tries to explain herself, insisting that Sami wasn’t going to tell E.J. about his own child. Brady points out that she has no baby, no E.J., and no friends in the world. “Are you saying that I’ve lost you too?” she asks. Brady confirms this.
