How to Add Text to Animations
- 1). Open a graphics program on your computer and create the text you want to add to a .gif animation you already have saved, setting the font, size, colors and whatever effects you want.
- 2). Go to "File" and click "save as" to save your text. Then go to "Edit" and "Copy." Open Animation Shop and paste the text as a new animation.
- 3). Open the .gif animation file you would like to add the text to. Scroll to the end of the animation to see how many frames it contains.
- 4). Resize your text, if necessary, so that it can fit exactly where and how you want it to in the animation.
- 5). Go to "Edit" and then select "Duplicate Selected" to create a second frame in the text you created. Do this as many times as you need to create as many layers as the animation file has.
- 6). Go to "Edit" and "Copy" when you have all the frames you need in the text frame. Then click on the animation to activate it.
- 7). Go to "Edit" and then "Select All" to select all frames in the animation. Then choose "Paste" and "Into Selection." Then save your animation under a new file name or with the same name if you like.
- 8). Open your animation without text in Adobe ImageReady and scroll to the first frame.
- 9). Click on the "Type" tool, select a font, font size and color for text you want to add and then click where you want in the animation to type your text. Move the text wherever you want it, making sure to stay in that first frame.

Scroll through the animation's frames just to check the text, ensuring that it appears exactly the same in all. Scroll back to the first frame and add a border and effects if you want and then go to "File" and "Save As" to save your finished animation.
