Software Removal

• 1). Update the antivirus software on your computer.
  
  
• 2). Do a full system scan with the antivirus software and remove all infections found.
  
  
• 3). Download and install an anti-malware such as the one from Malwarebytes.
  
  
• 4). Run the anti-malware and delete all detected infections.
  
  

Manual Removal

• 1). Look for this folder: C:\Windows\System32\twain32 and these files: C:\Windows\System32\twex.exe, C:\Windows\System32\twain32.exe, C:\Windows\netwrorkservice\twain32.exe and C:\Windows\twain32.exe. Press the "Shift" and "Delete" keys simultaneously to delete them.
  
  
• 2). Press the "Ctrl," "Shift" and "ESC" keys simultaneously to open Task Manager. Click the "Processes" tab and select "twex.exe". Press the "End Process" button and confirm this action before closing Task Manager.
  
  
• 3). Press the "Windows" key and the "R" letter key simultaneously to open the Run box. Type "msconfig" and click "OK". Click on the "Startup" tab in the System Configuration window. Locate "twex.exe" and uncheck the box beside it. Click "Apply" and close the window. Do not reboot the computer yet.
  
  
• 4). Download and install a free registry cleaner such as CCleaner. Run the software to scan and clean your registry of all remaining entries of the malware.
