- General Motors first opened on September 16, 1908, as a holding company for Buick. It was based in Flint, Michigan, and controlled by William C. Durant. GM bought Oldsmobile later that year and, over time, acquired Cadillac, Elmore and Oakland (which later become known as Pontiac). Durant lost control of the company in 1910 and founded Chevrolet.
- The 2011 Acadia requires 5.3 qts. of AF6 low-viscosity synthetic transmission fluid for an initial fill. The engine requires 9.6 qts. for a complete fill.
- The automatic transmission on a 2011 Canyon requires five qts. of AF6 low-viscosity synthetic transmission fluid for the initial fill, and 11.3 qts. for a total fill. The manual transmission requires 4.7 pts. of 75W-90 synthetic manual transmission and transaxle gear lube. Both the fill and drain plugs for the manual transmission require 27 ft-lbs of torque to remove.
- The 2011 Sierra 1500 requires five qts. of AF6 low-viscosity synthetic transmission fluid, and 11.3 qts. for a complete fill.
- The automatic transmission for the 2011 Terrain requires 6.4 qts. of AF6 low-viscosity synthetic transmission fluid. The engine also requires nine qts. for a complete fill.
- The 2011 Yukon requires an initial fill of 6.1 qts. of AF6 low-viscosity synthetic transmission fluid. This engine also requires 12.2 qts. for a complete fill.
