How to Make Cigarette Paper Gum at Home
- 1). Measure the vinegar into a small sauce pan. Place it on the stove on medium heat and bring it to a low boil
- 2). Open the gelatin packets and pour them into the boiling vinegar. Stir them with a spoon until the gelatin granules are fully dissolved.
- 3). Remove the vinegar mixture from heat.
- 4). Add two drops of flavoring oil, if you want flavored glue. Stir.
- 5). Refrigerate the mixture. Let it cool for 30 minutes.
- 6). Lay the cigarette papers out on a clean plate.
- 7). Dip a small, clean artist's paintbrush (preferably one that's never been used) into the glue.
- 8). Rub the brush on the side of the pot to remove as much excess glue as possible, since you want to use it sparingly.
- 9). Brush the glue onto one of the long edges of each cigarette paper. Cover a band on the edge about ¼ inch wide.
- 10
Let the cigarette papers dry for one hour; the glued portions may curl and wrinkle somewhat during this process. - 11
Press the papers between sheets of newspaper or computer paper. Weight them with a stack of hardcover books and leave overnight; this will remove the wrinkles and leave the papers ready for use.
