About Flathead Catfish at Caesar Creek Lake in Waynesville, Ohio
- Caesar Creek Lake is the deepest lake in Ohio, and it has more than 35 miles of shoreline. Flatheads can be found in the lake, as well as below the dam. The fish above the lake can concentrate near the dam in the deepest water.
- Caesar Creek Lake is known for its spring crappie. Don't be surprised to catch a flathead when you fish for the crappie. Catfish will hit pretty much any bait, including gamefish lures.
- Deep water holds big catfish---fish that are 20 pounds and larger have been caught in Caesar Creek Lake. The Ohio record flathead is 75.6 pounds, although it was not caught in Caesar Creek Lake.
