As it is known to all, the Baofeng UV-5R series of radios are just fantastic little performers with a price tag under fifty dollars blowing the big three Japanese ham radio manufactures out of the water with radios that cost 6 times as much. A new version of the series of radio is coming out with improved was listening to the consumers and making improvements with every new model. Though the series of radios will work from 130 to 180 MHZ and 350 to 480 MHZ users have to keep in mind that these radios are not type accepted for use in the FRS/GMRS bands as well as the 2 meter and 440 ham bands without a proper license.

It seems that the Baofeng company was listening to the consumers and making improvements with every new model. And the fact that the price of Baofeng radio keeps dropping on a weekly basis as more and more resellers get on board with this fantastic little radio.

In order to save to memory users first put in the REVEIVE frequency then Transmit frequency. Now be sure to put in the T-CTS (menu 13) or if the repeater transmits a tone then they set the R-CTS (Menu 11). For example 147.280 users CTCSS then you would set Menu 11 and Menu 13 to the same tone. When users save the reveive frequency into the memory it will comfirm by saying "Receiving memory." And the offset frequency by saying "Transmitting memory" and to confirm the settings exit the menu and switch to Memory mode and go to the channel they saved. Setting in each menu item and it always starts from 67.0 even if it is set to say 100.0 good.
