Rescue Me: "General Hospital" Recap for Monday, November 17, 2008
Sonny rescues the latte seller from the coffee shop and manages to rescue Olivia. As he's bringing her out, Jason runs up to him. Sonny says that now, it's them against the Russians. Jason pointsw out, none too politely, that this whole mess happened because Sonny killed Karpov. Sonny retorts that he had to because Jason wouldn't stop the Russians initially. Jason has the last word - he's cutting all ties with Sonny to save whom and what he can.
p]Jax approaches Carly at the MetroCourt and asks if she's finished with the divorce papers, which she tears up in his presence. She announces that she is contesting the divorce and summons Diane, in a hurry to get to the boutique before it closes. Carly promises to keep it open for her and asks her to help fight the divorce. Diane wants 20% off anything in the boutique. Carly agrees. Diane lays into Jax for being emotionally and physically absent from Carly during much of the marriage.
Lulu and Johnny kiss in front of what was once Kelly's. Claudia comes up to them and tells her brother that she hopes it's a goodbye kiss. They have one of those arguments about doing what has to be done for the family and acting as if the idea of marrying Sonny is abhorrent to her. Right. Johnny announces that he's not going to go that route; he's going to live his life for himself, not the Zacchara family. Johnny sort of disowns the family when it's convenient - later on, when Lulu trashes them, Johnny reminds her that she rode in his fancy car and that he paid for their dinner with Zacchara money.
Lulu suggests that he stand on his own two feet.
Sam and Maxie talk about Elizabeth, and Maxie suggests that Sam still has a thing for Jason. She doesn't realize that Sam is not really separated from Lucky until Lucky walks in and they embrace. Maxie leaves and is followed by the Russian with the tattoo. Lucky gets a call about the coffee shop fire and leaves.
Robin and Patrick are headed home, though Patrick is a wreck thinking the hospital elevator will stall. Elizabeth looks amused and promises him that it gets better. Patrick drives the new van under the speed limit, finally increasing to 21 mph. Once they're home, Emma's diaper needs changing. Patrick looks as if he may faint.
Nikolas runs into Nadine while walking in the park, and he's immediately confused, as usual, by whatever it is she's saying. He finally figures out that she's agreed to marry him so that he can stay in the country. He advises her not to worry, that his lawyers will help him.
Jax sees Carly later and admits that yes, he was absent a good bit of the time and that the situation of Jerry missing is preoccupying him. Just then, Kate, dressed in black, comes up to Carly and announces that her engagement to Sonny is over and he's all hers. She congratulates Carly on her hard work getting Sonny away from her and, turning to Jax, says that she hopes he isn't seduced by Carly's fake promises again. She leaves. Carly calls her sick and bitter to Jax, who shocks her by saying he happens to agree with Kate. He's glad she came along; he was just about to make another stupid mistake. Carly lashes out, saying that Kate probably wants him for herself. Jax says yes, maybe she does, and he's going to check that out. He leaves Carly standing in the middle of the floor alone. And horrified.
Lucky asks the arguing Sonny and Jason what happened. Sonny explains how he came upon the fire, what he did, and no, he doesn't know who did it, but it was obviously intended as an attack on Jason. He walks away.
Olivia talks to Dante on the phone, saying that she's okay. Sonny enters her room, and, weak though she may be, she's got plenty of venom for him, accusing him of starting a mob war. They fight. As they're fighting, somewhat lightheartedly after a fashion, Kate happens by. She doesn't like what she observes.
Jason asks Spinelli to find out everything he can about the Russians and their drug interests. He informs Cody that they need to fight back big time. Elizabeth overhears their conversation and looks unhappy.
The tattoo man finally seizes his opportunity and, with the help of another, grabs Maxie. Spinelli finds Maxie in the park, either unconscious or worse.
