How to Waterproof the Exterior of the Home
- 1). Seal edges of all windows. Windows frequently allow moisture and water to enter a home. Place the caulking tube into the caulking gun. Apply a thin, even layer of caulking around the windowsills. Spread the caulking with your finger.
- 2). Load the waterproof paint into the paint sprayer according to the manufacturer's directions.
- 3). Apply a thin and even layer of waterproof paint to the exterior of the house. Let the first layer of paint dry for at least four hours. After four hours apply a final layer of waterproof paint on the exterior of the house. Let the final layer of paint dry for at least 24 hours before adhering anything to the wall.
