My Perception on Homosexuality in the Community
Homosexuality is no news in our society today.
Some few years back, it was not easy for gays and lesbians to own up to their sexual identity.
Nowadays they say it loud and clear with no fear of discrimination.
They say it and still acquire top job positions and better still we have witnessed gay clergies being ordained.
Homosexuality in the community matters to some people while to others it is a less concern.
How would you react if you learnt to your surprise that someone immediate to you is a homosexual? It might be your boss, your baby's teacher or the pastor who brings forth the word every Sunday.
It is good news that transgendered Americans are not being rejected in our community today.
All humans whether homosexual or anything in between they must be having something positive to contribute in the society.
It does not matter whether your watchman is gay or not.
The important thing is whether they they do their job well.
If they carry themselves in a manner not to affect other people their sexual orientation is no one's business.
It would be sheer discrimination if you refused to extend some favors on grounds of race, religion, or profession.
The way look at it is the same way you should look at homosexuality.
Whatever they do in the privacy of their bedroom involves two consenting adults and so it should least bother a neighbor.
Homosexuality in the community cannot be legislated in any way since it is a case of morality.
The world should know that there is little they can do regarding one's sexual preference.
The proximity to their homes or their positions in the community should be of less concern to the community.
The people interviewed confessed of having worked closely with gay people and they said they were great.
Tammy said that her boss was gay and the best boss in the whole world.
She never had anything against him since he never tried to impose his beliefs on anyone or tried to hit on anyone in the organization.
Gay people do not have issues with straight people and that is they wish homosexuality in the community can be wholly embraced.
Homosexuality in the community has brought in some confusion and forced some people in business to act in a way they would not have otherwise acted.
It is true that someone's sexual orientation should not be used as a tool to judge her/his performance in the community.
At the workplace the boss might not have issues with homosexuality but they might make some decisions having the future business of the company in mind.
A manager might be forced to put society's stance into consideration while hiring homosexuals.
For instance let us say that we have 'employee 1' who is gay, very qualified and perfectly trained to carry out the task.
'Employee 2' is is straight, and not qualified.
The manager will consider the clients opinion on the gay person and feel like they might fail to buy the products if he hired the gay person.
This will push him to hire the straight person against his wishes.
