How to Remove a Lawn Mower Blade Counterclockwise
- 1). Remove any gasoline from the lawnmower. Put on a pair of work gloves. Turn the mower on its side.
- 2). Place a piece of wood between the blade and the mower housing so the blade will not move as you loosen the bolt or nut.
- 3). Loosen the bolt that connects the blade to the mower body. Use a box wrench or socket wrench and turn the bolt in a counterclockwise motion. Position yourself so that you are pulling the wrench toward your body.
- 4). Unthread the bolt with your hands once the wrench has loosened it sufficiently. Remove the bolt and the blade along with any other hardware, such as washers or a mounting plate. Remember the order in which the hardware was originally placed on the thread so you can put everything back in the correct position.
