How to Make a Totem
- 1). Push a hot glue stick into the back of a hot glue gun and plug in the hot glue gun to heat up for five minutes.
- 2). Paint colorful faces on six different cereal boxes using acrylic paint. Cover the cereal boxes completely with the colorful paint to make them look similar to the faces on a real totem pole. Allow the paint to dry for 30 minutes.
- 3). Paint a layer of clear acrylic glaze over the painted cereal boxes, which will make the boxes look glossy and will protect the paint from chipping. Allow the paint to dry for 30 minutes.
- 4). Place one of the cereal boxes upright and squeeze a line of hot glue along the top of the box. Press one of the other cereal boxes upright on top of the first box. Hold the two boxes in place for two minutes so the glue can harden.
- 5). Repeat this process until all the painted cereal boxes have been glued together. Allow all of the boxes to cool for two minutes in between additions.
