If You"re in Network Marketing, You"re Going to Hate This Article (Except It Might Save Your Busines

22
Catchy title, huh?  Bet you think I'm about to be totally negative on the industry and tell you to start buying lottery tickets instead.

Wrong.  I love Network Marketing with all my heart.  I think it is a great opportunity in a free society where anyone, from any background, can create a new level of abundance for themselves and their family.

So why are you going to hate this article?  Because I'm about to take all the blame out of your business.

You see, your success in MLM has nothing to do with your company.  Nothing to do with your products, or customer service, or how much your administration is charging for shipping and handling.  It's not about the promo materials (or lack thereof), the economy, your lazy friends and family who you thought would be perfect for this business.

Nope.  Not a bit.

Your success in MLM is all about one thing: you.  Your heart, your mind, the words that come out of your mouth and the actions you take or don't take with your hands.  "You" are both the problem and the solution.  Unhappy with your company?  Find a new company.  Arguing with your upline?  Keep going upline till you find someone you can work with.  Mad about product efficiency, prices, etc etc etc.  Guess what?  There are people in your company with the same products, same shipping and handling, same customer service, same everything, making $10K per month or more.

Why them and not you?

I told you you were going to hate this article.

My job, as an Executive Trainer in MLM, is to kick your butt to the finish line.  To make you work so hard, so long, to make so many phone calls and talk to so many people that you hate me and curse me until one day you wake up and your monthly income is so large that you and your family get to do anything you want.  One guy donated $73 million dollars to the homeless and hungry around the world.  One guy moved down to S. America for ten years.  My goal is to open up a spiritual retreat center where people from all over the country can come and feel closer to the Divine.

Want to make a course correction?

Make the commitment right now to become one of the big players in your company.  Poor results in Network Marketing stem from one thing and one thing only: misperceptions about the correct way to build an MLM.

If you knew the best things to say, the best people to say them to, and the best way to build a dynamic downline, you would be so pumped up right now, you wouldn't be able to stop talking to people.

If you believed for real in the long-term residual income you were about to create, you would have every contact of yours on the line until they either signed up or paid you good money to not approach them again.

But more than that, you would completely revamp your approach to the industry by NOT TALKING TO FAMILY & FRIENDS, at least not until they showed some entreprenurial spark.  You see, if you got clear on who you were looking for and then qualified each person honestly and objectively, most of your family and friends would not qualify.

Why is that?  Because if you're like me, you are looking for 5 dynamic leaders to bust your downline wide open.  You are not looking for everybody on the globe.  You are not looking for someone with a pulse, or any poor soul who happens to come within 3 feet of you.  God, I hate that rule! If you were suddenly the President of Microsoft and you were hiring for your new management team, would you try to hire anyone who came within 3 feet of you?  Stop following that rule, get the sanity of your life back, and let's build a serious, respectable business.

Whew, that feels good to say!  Welcome to the world of true MLM Success, where you get to have a life and build a business, too.

To challenge some more misperceptions and get us all back on the path to riches and success:

-- Most of your family and friends will think you are nuts.  I would stop talking to them right now.  I would approach them in a few months once you know what you are doing and making some decent money, but not yet.

-- Lack of proper education is the reason why your team is not growing.  You might think it's the economy, but more millionaires have been created in MLM during recessions than in any other time.  Just look at Amway.  So let's put away the excuses and get real about this one thing: if you are willing to re-educate yourself and change your approach, if you will stretch and grow and BECOME THE PERSON THAT OTHER PEOPLE WANT TO FOLLOW, then you can make it in MLM.  Shoot, you can make it anywhere.

-- This whole predicament is not your fault.  No one ever told you, or trained you, or properly prepared you for this race you are trying to run.  They were probably so excited you signed up ("A committed builder, thank God!"), unless they had an amazing upline and mentoring program themselves, they probably just threw you into the water and said, "Good luck!  Let me know how it goes!"  And you've been struggling without a floatie ever since.

-- If you accept or even consider the possibility that lack of education is the problem, then where do you start?  By learning the correct way to build an MLM.  By studying the great masters of this business and becoming a student of the game.  By realizing that your best prospects are other Network Marketers, but not by pitching them on your opportunity.  No.  Slow down, Tex.  First, you're going to help them with their current company by selling them a generic, proven method for building their opportunity.  You are going to help them without any consideration for what comes back to you.  You are not going to mention your business, and this is going to grate against every MLM nerve you have.  You are going to build a relationship with them and share your leadership and humor and show them that building an MLM can be fun.

-- I had over eight hundred people say no to me during my first company.  I'm doing things a bit differently this time around.  And guess what?  I've been in my current company for two months and I already have 90 people in my downline.  Want to learn what I am doing?
