How to Calculate Principle Paid in Excel
- 1). Type "Loan Amount" in cell A1, "Interest Rate Per Month" in cell A2, "Payment Amount" in cell A3, "Payments Made" in cell A4, "Principal Paid" in cell A5 and "Remaining Principal" in cell A6.
- 2). Type "=(B1*(1+B2)^B4)-((B3/B2)*(1+B2^B4)-1)))" in cell B5.
- 3). Type "=B1-B5" in cell B6. Cell B6 will now display the principal paid when you enter your variables into B1, B2, B3 and B4.
