Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy

If you are looking to keep up with Rory’s whereabouts, his Facebook page is for you. Rory doesn’t post directly to the page. (If he does, he talks about himself in third person.) Pictures are posted on a weekly basis about the Rory Foundation, where he donates a bag to someone or something. You can also find the latest news on his career from the commercial with Tiger Woods to becoming a part of the Nike Golf team and what he will be wearing on the golf course.

Adam Scott

All eyes are on Adam Scott, the first Australian to win the Masters. Both Adam and his team post to his Facebook page, though his team posts more frequently than he does. His most recent posts are obviously about his incredible playoff win at the Masters. There is a montage of his swing if you are trying to improve your game, and pictures from his previous golf tournaments. Some of his other posts are directed toward fellow Australian players, congratulating them and promoting them on his page.

In the middle of December, he personally wrote a rather long post before the season got too hectic. He doesn’t respond to his fans much but hopefully that will change given his new found popularity.

Lee Westwood

If you missed a television or written interview of Lee Westwood, no worries. He posts them all on his Facebook when they are released. Many of his posts are original as he talks about golf courses, tournaments he is participating in and even a contest for fans to a driver and putter. Don't be surprised to see a birthday shout out to a fellow PGA golfer or holiday greeting to fans on his page. Also, if one of his friends wins a tournament, you’re sure to find a picture of them with their trophy on Lee’s timeline.

He is one of the more vocal golfers on Facebook.

Jason Dufner

If you want to keep up with Jason Dufner during tournaments his Facebook page is one to "like." If he doesn't send out an update someone from his team sends out score updates to his Facebook timeline. He posts photos from his golf tournaments and videos of his swings so that his fans can try to mimic it. If you’re a big fan, then this page is for you.

Dustin Johnson

If you want to see what the tournaments look like that Dustin Johnson participates in, he creates albums that are filled with pictures about each one. He is the only golfer that makes good use out of the milestone button on Facebook, marking the important tournaments he has been in. He even shares pictures of his fans wearing his signature hat.

Ian James Poulter

If you love golf and are a huge car fan, you will be drooling when you get to Ian James Poulter’s Facebook page. He has a picture of his red 288 GTO, bringing about 111 comments and 928 likes by itself. The car was brought in for a photo shoot that he did. There are also pictures from the photo shoot. His posts are torn between his game and IJP Designs. He does all of his posts but doesn’t respond to his fans’ postings.

Charl Schwartzel

Charl Schwartzel won the Masters in 2011 but you wouldn't know it by how few likes he has on his Facebook page. Charl is one to like because he shares lots of photos from his golf tournaments as well as his life off the green. I like that Charl posts himself but I wish he would respond more to his fans.

Graeme McDowell is by far the best golfer you can like on Facebook. Why? Because he acknowledges his fans in the about me section and posts regularly to his Facebook. His posts are between shout-outs, golf and his GMac foundation. The pictures he posts aren’t just shots of him golfing but of his everyday life. That helps fans connect with him because they see that he is just like them, except he plays a lot more golf.

When you think of golfers, Tiger Woods usually comes to mind. He recently asked fans for feedback on content that should be added to his swing app. That provided an opportunity to be heard by Tiger himself. He followed up with a post about when some of the suggestions would be integrated. His most interesting post has to be about his new girlfriend Lindsey Vonn. Given his past relationship issues it was surprising that he would use social media as a way of confirming the relationship.

He also posts about what he will be wearing on the golf course, what he is doing with Nike Golf and more. He doesn’t post very often, but when he does, you can tell your friends you know all about Tiger.
