White Party 2016: Montreal"s Bal En Blanc is One of Spring"s Biggest Parties
White Party 2016: Montreal's Bal en Blanc
White Party, aka Bal en Blanc, is one of Montreal's biggest mainstream dance music gatherings, an annual ritual coinciding with Easter weekend every year since its inception.
In 2016, Montreal's White Party is March 27, 2016 at the Montreal Bell Centre. Main headliners will be announced as we close in one the date. Last year's headliners included David Guetta, Dash Berlin, and Marcus Schulz. Admission details for 2016 to be announced.
Last year's admission ranged from $59 to $149, with VIP costing an extra $40 plus service charge. Buy tickets.
In effect every year since 1995, the first edition of Bal en Blanc attracted a humble 800-some crowd. Roughly 20 years later, Bal en Blanc easily attracts over 15,000 dance music enthusiasts. In recent years, Bal en Blanc was held at Palais des congrès, Montreal's largest convention centre. But in 2015, that venue was swapped for that of the Bell Centre, an arena that can handle even larger crowds.

White Party FAQs
Is it called White Party/Bal en Blanc because I'm supposed to dress in white?
That's right. Party-goers can get away with specks of color here and there and hey, maybe you really can't afford to buy a pair of white chinos to go with that blanco top so don't get too worked up if you're stuck sporting a pair of jeans. Just keep in mind that organizers do expect you to stay on theme so work in as much white as you can.

How long does Bal en Blanc last?
The party usually gets started at 9 p.m. on Easter Sunday and runs through to Easter Monday wrapping up by noon. Headliners generally get going as of 2 a.m. but arrive around that time at your own risk as lineups to get in can be long and irritating.
Is alcohol sold at Bal en Blanc?
Yes. From 9 p.m. until 3 a.m. only though. Note that the legal drinking age in Montreal is younger than the legal drinking age in the United States and most of Canada. Remember to bring I.D.
Food? Beverages? Merch?
Yes, yes and yes. All sold on location. You can even get a professional massage if needed.

What kind of people go to Bal en Blanc?
All sorts. Younger, older, gay, not gay, professionals, professional scenesters ... it's a hodge podge in there, which is precisely Bal en Blanc's charm. For example, roughly one party goer out of ten is 40+ years old and roughly two out of ten are openly LGBTA. Overall though, Bal en Blanc's core audience is between the ages 20 and 40. Note that those intolerant of age differences and sexual orientations other than their own are, coincidentally, NOT tolerated at Montreal's White Party.
Will I get searched at the door?
Yes. Remember to bring valid I.D. with you as security, which is organized in concert with the Montreal Police, may request to see it. You may also be asked to show I.D. when purchasing alcoholic beverages. Note that the legal drinking age in Montreal is younger than the legal drinking age in the United States and most of Canada.
Can I smoke on the premises?
In 2015, you can totally smoke inside. A special area inside the Montreal Bell Centre is set up for smokers since no readmission to the event is allowed.
