Houston is located 50 miles northwest of the port town of Galveston, Texas, where two major cruise lines make calls. In 2008, following the destruction of Galveston by Hurricane Ike, the Houston Bayport Cruise Terminal serviced Carnival Cruise ships for more than a month. As of 2010, the Houston terminal does not offer any cruises. - Carnival Cruise offers a seven-day round trip voyage through the eastern Caribbean originating in Galveston, Texas. The cruise includes three days at sea, two stops in the Bahamas and a visit to Key West, Florida. Sailing on the Carnival Conquest, guests have an option of four different staterooms: interior, ocean view and balcony cabins, as well as suites. Basic amenities include bathrobes, hairdryers and televisions, while suites also offer whirlpool bathtubs and a vanity dressing table. All guests have access to 24-hour room service.
