How to Mix Speedball Calligraphy Ink
- 1). Decide which color you'd like to create. You can use basic color theory to mix calligraphy ink and create a new color. For instance, mix the primary colors red and blue to create the secondary color purple.
- 2). Pour a few drops of one color into a clean well on your palette. Gradually add the other color drop by drop. Mix with a toothpick.
- 3). Dip your calligraphy brush or pen into the newly mixed ink and test out the color on scrap paper. Adjust the color as needed. Adding a drop of a complementary color, such as adding a drop of orange ink to a few drops of blue ink, will make the mixture darker.
