Installing an Oxygen Sensor on a J30 Infiniti
- 1). Pop the hood of your car and prop the hood with the prop rod. You will need plenty of room to work as the oxygen sensor is near the back bottom of the engine compartment. Locate the sensor on top of your engine's exhaust manifold.
- 2). Pull on the wire on top of the sensor, disconnect it and lay it aside. Slide the oxygen sensor wrench over the old oxygen sensor, attach the ratchet and then turn counterclockwise. Unscrew the oxygen sensor and remove it. Slide the new oxygen sensor in its place.
- 3). Finger tighten the new oxygen sensor and then tighten it down completely using the oxygen sensor wrench and the ratchet. Slide the wire back onto the top electrode of the oxygen sensor, close and latch the hood. Start the car up and see how it idles.
