How to Attend Bastille Days in Milwaukee
- 1). Take in the street performers. During your stroll through Cathedral Square while attending Bastille Days, you are sure to encounter a mime, juggler and even a mini circus performance. There are also a wide variety of musicians and entertainers that are sure to please everyone in your family.
- 2). Storm the Bastille! The festival begins yearly on Thursday evening at 9 p.m. with a traditional 5K run. Festival goers literally run into Bastille Days.
- 3). Immerse yourself in French culture. You can brush up on your French by taking the daily French lessons offered. There is a French mass celebrated as well on Saturday evening.
- 4). See the shows. There are a variety of musical acts performing on stages throughout the Bastille Days grounds. Shows are anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes long and feature French music, local bands and everything in between.
- 5). Watch the waitress races on the final day of the festival. This is sure to entertain you and tickle your funny bone.
- 6). Visit the many vendors along the way to take home a memory from your visit to Bastille Days. You never know what you will find. Many items are made by community members.
