My business commitments and lifestyle never afforded me adequate time to devote to sports, though I have always been a sports freak throughout my younger days.
Adventure always fascinated me, and I thought I have had my share of it.
However, I always considered golf to be an old man's game, and never showed any interest in its pursuit.
On entering the corporate world, I suddenly realized that most business deals are struck on the golf course! Only when I lost out on a couple of important deals did I realize the importance and necessity to learn golf.
Many of my clients are from overseas, and prefer to play golf whenever they come over on business trips.
Mixing business with pleasure!! Therefore, to keep potential clients happy, I decided to organize a corporate golf event, and I soon found orders pouring in!! It also prompted me to take up the game, and I am happy I did so.
To take things further, on a suggestion by my colleague, I found an interesting way to grab my clients' attention.
I decided to get promotional items, golf items and accessories with my company logo on them, which I planned to give to my customers.

There is a wide range of golf products and accessories available, and we had golf balls, golf tees and ball markers, golf umbrellas and even golf tee shirts which we gave away as promotional items.
Needless to say, we had our company name and logo on each of them.
It was great fun, and I found that not only my clients were happy, but also a number of our own employees were beaming with joy.
Their families had a wonderful outing, sporting promotional items supplied by the company.
It does great to boost morale to see happy families having a great time.
We now have decided to organize our corporate golf event on an annual basis.
Advertising to promote our company has rarely produced results that the golf tournament, along with the freebies (promotional items) we doled out to every guest and participant, and I am convinced that this is the way to go! I also intend to use promotional items for our next trade show, and am eager to see the smiling faces of visitors to our stall.
Giving is certainly fun, if it also helps your company gain customers and profits!
