Does Your Hair Grow Back More Densely After Shaving?
- Hairs grow at a tapered rate, the tips being much finer than the root of the hair. When shaving a bodily area the razor shaves through the mid-section of the hair, which leaves a coarse feeling when running a hand over the area. Men shave their faces and after only a few hours, some may feel the roughness of re-growing hair on their face, and it will feel like sandpaper. The reason for this is that the hairs have been cut at half mast, causing them to feel rougher.
- When hair is shaved to a coarse feeling it may appear darker as it begins to grow back, but this is more of an illusion. As the hair begins to taper it will, again appear lighter, as before.
- When hair is cut straight across as exacting degrees, each hair will have the same length, consistency and feel. In bodily areas of more dense hair, like legs and faces, it will feel thicker, when in actuality it is just the ends that feel rough.
