Third Time Being Sick In As Many Months - Will My Immune Make It Through This?

3
I am relatively young and have been smoking on and off for about 7 years only.
I guess it is just the way I am built, but my immune system seems to suffer more then other smokers that I hang out with.
This is a real pain in the butt because I terribly dislike the way I feel now.
But recently something has started to happen that has made me rethink if smoking is worth it health wise or not.
I have started to feel as though there is a hold being burned in one particular spot in my throat.
Seeing the health signs and hating being sick are just a few of the reasons why I decided to stop smoking yesterday.
This really all started when people as a mass started to inhale the smoke instead of just puff on it.
As soon as we introduced the chemicals into our bodies, our society as a whole has changed.
Our immune systems have been put on overdrive and mine has not been able to catch up with a lot of what is going on in my body.
I would say that I smoked only about a pack a day for about 7 years and I am feeling some long term effects already.
Such as only being able to taste 3 our of 4 meals, energy loss, dry heaving, and bitter nicotine face;-) Now as the periods between being sick are getting shorter, I am realizing something here, I am not even 30 years old yet and I am seriously having some bad luck catching everything I come into contact with because my immune system is too busy chasing around the smoke.
But what can I say? There are more problems that come along with smoking then just getting sick all the time.
Don't get me wrong not everyone has as bad as a system that I have only after 7 years of smoking.
I am just saying something has got to give because I just can't go around getting sick all of the time right before the actual sick season begins.
That really bites.
But hey, I know I am not alone out there either.
There wouldn't be sayings like, "I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.
" Well being sick and tired myself, I decided to stop smoking yesterday.
Lets see if I can see some immediate benefits from this or if I have to go on for months with this pestering poor immune system.
