How to Collect a Court Ordered Judgment
- 1). Request a garnishment of wages form from the clerk in the court that granted the final judgment. You must know the name and address of the debtor's employer and the exact amount of money that was granted in your judgment. This would include court costs, attorney fees, and interest.
- 2). File your form with the clerk and pay the required filing fee. The court will calculate the amount of payments according to the party's income and the amount of money owed and grant your order for garnishment.
- 3). Serve the party's employer with the wage garnishment order. The court may order law enforcement to serve the employer. In the event they do not, you must hire a process server. File an Order of Satisfaction with the court after all the money has been paid.
