The Time Machine
Once there was a beautiful girl who had everything the world could offer; a big mansion, an ocean of fashion designer clothes and most important of all, loving parents. Her only worry was that she wasn't living a normal life with bodyguards watching her back.She was forbidden by her parents to touch the grass around their mansion, sky gaze in the cold nights and even interact with strangers.
"Creep out of the house and go to Prof. Lockhead's house, to test his time machine," an inner voice enticed her one night. Without second thought, the girl sneaked out of her bedroom, to an underground chamber, and finally out of her home without raising any alarm. She felt like a bird which had escaped from a wooden cage. After a twenty minutes walk, she successfully arrived to her destination.
Hearing rumors of how the garage containing the time-machine looked like in her school, she didn't have any difficulty identifying it. Again, the garage was always unlocked, always amazing the neighbors, and frightening the would-be robbers with questions in their minds. It wasn't long before the girl found herself sitting on a time machine.
Clicking a button, she saw her mother running away from soldiers, aged as a teenager twenty-eight years back. Horrified by her mother's experience in the war, the girl quickly clicked the "future button". Suddenly, she saw her father yelling at her ten years on. The future showed her as a youth drowned in rebellion, bringing frustrations to her parents.
"I will go back to the present and live my life independently and responsibly," she whispered to herself as she clicked the "present button." Looking at her mother's past, and her family's future, she realized that every thought and action contributes to our world. No longer did she see her parents' overprotectiveness as a menace.
Her freedom to socialize with her friends without guards was granted after several days, because of her higher sense of duty to Virtue. She even started to interact with her parents more freely, without holding any word back. She had grown within and socially. The time-machine had played a role in making her heart to be at peace.
