How to Develop a No Excuses Attitude

33
"The day you take complete responsibility for yourself, the day you stop making any excuses, that's the day you will start to the top.
" - Unknown
Many people use excuses to get a free pass from work, dinner with the in-laws, or even taking out the trash.
Excuses are what we use when we want to do things that are more interesting or pleasing instead of the things that may be better for us in the long run.
We often forget it is all the little things that we do that impact our long term success.
We fail to see the long term impact of skipping the gym, eating that extra piece of cake, or not following up on an introduction.
You may be missing out on the incredible opportunity to showcase who you are.
After all, success is about how you decide to show up in the world.
Peak performers demand a "no excuses" attitude from themselves.
They take 100 percent responsibility for the results they create.
They could easily fall into the trap of making excuses but what benefit would it be to them.
You cannot expect results when you have excuses.
Think of an Olympic athlete.
What would happen if they always ate whatever they wanted, skipped 2-3 workouts, or stayed up all hours of the night? They would not be an Olympic athlete for long.
You may be saying to yourself: • "But, I'm too busy.
" • "I do not have enough money.
" • "I do not know enough.
" • "I can't meet that project deadline.
" • "I do not have enough time.
" Read these excuses over.
Do any sound familiar? We all have the same amount of time in a day.
Now, think about what you can do! Challenge those excuses.
Too busy.
Are you doing things that others can do? Are you over scheduled? No money.
Can you make more money? Can you cut back on your spending to save more money? No talent or skills.
Can you learn new skills or study from the masters? What is it that you need to do to ensure that what needs to get done gets done? You might say "But I do not like to do that!" An excuse.
Sometimes we have to do things we do not always like to do.
Make small sacrifices to gain big rewards.
You might also say, "I am not as self-disciplined as you.
" Believe me, it takes work and self-talk.
No one said that getting want you want would be easy but I can almost guarantee it is worth it.
Challenge yourself to become more disciplined in developing the no excuses attitude.
If you slip up, remember you are human, get up and do it again! Each time you do, you build the memory muscle.
You are better than the last attempt.
Excuses have no place in peak performance and getting results.
It takes practice to achieve this mindset.
Self-discipline is the key to self-mastery.
Master your excuses, master your life.
Start taking control of what you want to achieve.
No one is going to do it for you.
That's your job!
