How to Install a High Power Turbo
- 1). Drain the engine oil and radiator fluid. The turbocharger is circulated with these fluids, thus removing it requires the engine to be drained.
- 2). Remove the stock turbocharger by disconnecting all oil and coolant lines, as well as intercooler piping. Unbolt the turbo from the exhaust manifold, and it will lift free.
- 3). Replace the exhaust manifold with an aftermarket unit if the turbocharger you're upgrading to requires it. Bolt your new high power turbo to the exhaust manifold, then reconnect all lines and intercooler piping.
- 4). Refill the engine's oil and radiator fluid. To utilize your new high power turbo's potential, engine tuning is needed. Purchase an ECU reflash for your vehicle. These are programs uploaded to the stock ECU which raise the boost pressure and revise the fuel maps, increasing horsepower and keeping your engine reliable.
