Coated Denim
Definition:
Coated denim wears like a regular jean, but is laminated with a shiny, permanent coating. This is generally achieved in production by using a pigment (for colored denim), or a clear acrylic or polyurethane coating that is dried and cured at very high temperatures. When the denim is black in color, coated jeans will have a leather-like look, offering the appearance of leather pants at less cost (and animal-free).
Coated denim is typically machine washable (but check garment labels) and long-lasting. This denim will stretch less than regular denim, so stay true to size when buying.
Also Known As: coated jeans, wax jeans, leather jeans
