How to Hook up a Wireless Mic & a Wireless Monitor
- 1). Purchase a wireless microphone set online or at your nearest electronics store. Look for well-reviewed wireless microphone systems for computer usage. A wireless headset system will allow you to transmit and receive audio hands-free.
- 2). Install whatever batteries your wireless microphone requires. Some come with interchangeable batteries, and others have a built-in battery that requires charging. If your device carries a rechargeable battery, plug the AC adapter into the wall and charge it fully before proceeding.
- 3). Plug the wireless transmitter into a USB port on your computer. A small light on the device should come on indicating that it is functional. Place the transmitter at a convenient location near your computer.
- 4). Check the installation manual to see if there is any specific procedures for connecting the wireless microphone with the transmitter. Most wireless microphones simply require being turned on after the transmitter is installed.
- 5). Change the settings on your computer to recognize your new microphone as your primary sound device, then test your equipment. Using the Windows operating system, you can accomplish this by opening "Control Panel" under the Start Menu, then selecting "Sound and Audio Devices" to set up and test your new hardware.
- 1). Purchase a WID101 wireless XGA receiver or other comparable device that receives transmitted video to your computer monitor.
- 2). Check that your PC has a wireless card that the WID101 can recognize. If you have a wireless network, this will generally suffice. If not, purchase and install a wireless card.
- 3). Install the WID101 software using the provided flash drive. Plug the flash drive into a USB port and follow the installation instructions that appear on the screen.
- 4). Plug the wireless receiver into a power adapter and turn it on.
- 5). Configure your IP address by entering the "Control Panel" window from the Start-up menu. Click on "Network Connections" from the list of options. The next window will display a few network icons. Select the network connection you want to work with, then right-click it and select "Properties." In the next window that appears, scroll down and select the item "Internet Protocol TCP/IP" from the menu. Click the "Properties" box below the menu. Another window will open with the options "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically." Select these settings. This will configure the IP address of the wireless receiver.
- 6). Locate the SETUP tab on the wireless receiver program for the desktop. From the SETUB tab, select "Connection Setup," then choose "Wireless Receiver" and click "OK." Verify your IP configuration from the information displayed.
- 7). Connect to your wireless receiver by entering the "Network Connections" window again. Double-click the wireless connection icon to display the "Wireless Network Connection Status" window. At the bottom of this window, click the "View Wireless Networks" button. Find the wireless network entitled TG_WID101, highlight it, then click the "Connect" button at the bottom of the screen.
- 8). Plug the wireless receiver into a DVI-D port on your monitor in order to be able to transmit information from the PC to the monitor.
