Dog Urine Removal - Clean Up Dog Pee Spots On The Carpet

16
Well, today again, I decided to spend some time working on a couple of ugly, smelly spots on my carpet.
You know the kind.
At first you don't see them because you are too busy with life to notice them.
And then by the time you do notice them they have already had time to sit and soak in, and that makes cleaning them up a lot harder to do.
And in my opinion, dog pee on the carpet is basically unacceptable, except that it happens...
even to nice and smart people...
and to their beloved dogs as well.
I love my dog very much.
And we try to take her out several times per day, but she doesn't always go potty poo-poo when we would like her to.
Instead, she prefers to do a lot of sniffing when we go out for a walk, which I have noticed is also the prerequisite for her going potty poo-poo.
Sniff, sniff, here and there, and then if we are lucky, a potty or a poo-poo might happen after that.
But if it doesn't happen, and we have to leave to go to work for several hours, then what is going to happen when we are not there to let her out a little bit later? So today, I was going back over a couple of those really stubborn spots where she had unfortunately peed on the carpet.
And since those spots went unnoticed for a while, even after removing as much of the dog urine as possible, there are still some yellowish stains on my off-white carpet.
Yuck.
Luckily, about a year ago I was fortunate enough to come across some information about some powerful cleaning products, some homemade recipes and some equipment that can be used to really help clean up any dog urine, dog pee, and even dog poop stains from carpets.
And with a lot of trial and error, and experimenting and creating my own recipes and techniques I have found a great amount of useful information that I know can help any other dog lover out there that might have this problem too.
That is why I decided to share this information with you, as a resource that you can use to deal with cleaning up these really stinky, dirty jobs, which happen from time to time if you have a dog or dogs in the house.
The basics are:
  • Attack the stain as soon as possible.
Fresh urine stains that are still wet may be easier to remove than a stain that has dried and bonded to the carpet fiber.
  • Use the right product or recipe for the job.
Using the wrong product or remedy can set that stain permanently.
  • Extract the moisture and the stain from the area so that the urine does not remain in the carpet.
  • Once urine dries in the carpet and padding the odor may tend to increase rather than decrease over time.
  • The right products, techniques and cleaning equipment is a must have for any dog owner.
  • Knowing how to remove the problem yourself will save you a ton of money over having a professional clean the carpet every time a doggie accident happens.
