How to Remove Sliding Drawers
- 1). Pull the drawer open and remove everything that is inside. This helps to prevent accidentally dumping the contents on the floor and makes the drawer lighter.
- 2). Extend the drawer fully. This gives you an opportunity to determine how it slides into the cabinet. Drawers typically use either side sliding rails or a rail under the center of the drawer.
- 3). Find orange tabs on the side of the drawer, if you have drawers with side slide tracks. Press the tabs inward with your fingers and pull the drawer away from the cabinet. Some drawer have tabs that move up and down. Position the tab in the opposite direction to release the drawer and pull it out of the cabinet.
- 4). Grab the drawer on both sides near the back of the drawer with your hands, if you have side rails with no tabs. Lift the rear of the drawer up slightly and allow the front of the drawer to hang down. Pull the drawer toward you. The raising of the drawer allows the stops on the side rails to clear the stops on the cabinet rails.
- 5). Lift the front of the drawer slightly. if your drawer uses a single bottom track, you need only to pull it straight out of the cabinet.
