Getting In Touch With Our Intuitive Judgement
Calming the ego through moving meditation Wouldn't it be a good idea if we were born with a users guide attached to us? It could have topics such as our ideal diet, exercise and vocation.
All we would have to do would be to follow the directions in the guide in order to have a good foundation for our lives.
Then we would have an opportunity to stay in a state of good health as we explored the opportunities offered to us.
Hopefully we would be able to achieve a state of happiness while living a productive life.
Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? Well what do you know? We do come into this world with a device just as good as a users guide.
It is called our intuition.
If we are able to get in touch with it and listen to it our lives will take a turn for the better, however there is one problem.
That problem is our ego.
We have a hard time hearing our intuition over the roar of our ego.
Our minds are working overtime in order to process information, present it to our ego and try to listen to our intuition.
Usually our ego gets the final nod and we proceed to go down the wrong road again, say the wrong thing again and follow our ego again.
We just can't help ourselves, or can we? Try this on for size.
Our mind is connected to our bodies with our breath.
If we can slow down our bodies, it follows that our minds will slowdown.
If our minds slow down, maybe we can tune in to our intuition.
If we can tune into our intuition maybe our ego will start to quiet down.
So, how do we quiet the mind? We move our bodies slowly.
Here is an exercise that will, if you practice, start the ball rolling.
Just walk in a circle as slowly as you can for 10-15 minutes a day.
While walking concentrate totally on the mechanics of putting one step ahead of the other.
If any other thoughts enter your mind, let them go and go back to concentrating on putting one step ahead of the other.
As you get good at walking try to count your steps as you walk the circle.
Count up to 50 and start again.
Slowly, with practice your mind will start to slow, the body will relax and the breath will elongate.
You will find yourself in a state of moving meditation.
This is the key to calming the ego and as the ego calms, you can start to rely on your intuition for direction in life.
So simple, why not try it?
