Alaska Airlines Baggage Restrictions
- Each passenger may carry on one bag that measures up to 10-by-17-by-24 inches. A second personal item like a purse, briefcase or laptop is also allowed. These allowances are subject to space availability and at least one of the items must be stored under the seat in front of the passenger.
- A few items that exceed the acceptable carry-on size are allowed including art/advertising portfolios, paintings, scientific equipment and fishing poles. These count as the "one" carry-on allowed as long as you can stow them. Items that do not count toward the limit include coats, hats, umbrellas, a "reasonable amount" of reading material, child/infant restraint seats, strollers, mobility/medical assistive devices, service animals, food for immediate consumption and a pillow for personal use.
- There is a $20 one-way fee for each of the first three checked bags. Bags cannot exceed 62 linear inches ( length+width+height) and must weigh less than 50 lbs. Fees may be assessed for oversized bags.
